Oasis Poker

Betting boxes: from 1 to 3

Objective of the Game
Oasis Poker is a card game where the Player is to collect a better poker combination of cards than the Dealer’s one.
In Oasis Poker there is one deck, which comprises 52 cards from deuce to Ace of all four suits

How to play
There is one Player in the game, who plays against the dealer. There are 6 betting boxes marked on the table. Each Betting Box has two fields for bets. One of them is called the ANTE BET (pre-bet), the other is called the BET (the bet itself).
Before dealing the Player makes a pre-bet by placing one or several chips on the ANTE BET area. To do this the player should click a corresponding chip and place it on the playing field. Then the Player presses “Deal” button.
The Dealer draws five cards fives for the Player and for himself. The cards are dealt face-down, except the first Dealer’s card that appears to be dealt face-up. The Player looks at his cards and evaliates his hand. Sooner or later he will have to compare his hand with the Dealer’s one. A higher hand wins.

Poker Combinations
Each hand belongs to one of the 11 poker combinations. A combination is defined by the value of the cards and by their suits. The order in which the cards are received does not matter. The following combinations are ranged according to their rank in the descending order:

  • Royal Flush – the highest poker combination: 5 highest cards of the same suit (Ace–King–Queen–Jack-10).
  • Straight Flush – straight in one suit.
  • Four of a Kind – 4 cards of the same rank, for example, 4 Jacks or 4 Fives (plus one extra card).
  • Full or Full House – 3 cards of the same rank and 2 of another, for example, 6-6-6- K-K.
  • Flush – 5 cards of the same suit.
  • Straight – 5 consecutive cards, for example, 9-8-7-6-5. Suits of the cards do not matter. An Ace can be either the highest card (Ace-King-Queen-Jack-10) or the lowest card in the combination (5-4-3-2-Ace). Ace within a combination does not make up a Straight (3-2-Ace-King-Queen).
  • Three of a Kind – 3 cards of the same rank, for example, 9-9-9-Queen-4.
  • Two Pairs – two cards of the same rank and two of another, Ace-Ace-5-5-10.
  • One Pair – two cards of the same rank, for example, 8-8-King-4-2.
  • Ace-King – an ace and a king of any suits, for example, Ace-King-8-7-3.
  • No Hand – cards do not make any of the combinations mentioned above, for example, Jack-10-7-5-2.

The higher the combination, the higher the hand. If two hands have the same combinations, they are valued as in the regular poker by the rank of the cards.

A few examples:

  • Ace-King-Jack-3-2 is higher than Ace-King-10-9-8 (Jack is higher than 10);
  • Pair 5-5-4-3-2 is higher than 4-4-Ace-King-Queen (only values of paired cards are compared);
  • Pair 5-5-Queen-3-2 is higher than 5-5-Jack-10-9 (Queen is higher than Jack);
  • Two pairs Ace-Ace-2-2-3 is higher than King-King-Queen-Queen-Ace (the values of the higher pair cards are compared);
  • Straight King-Queen-Jack-10 is the highest, 5-4-3-2-Ace is the lowest;
  • Full 3-3-3-2-2 is higher than 2-2-2-Ace-Ace (the value of Three of a Kind is higher than Pair).

There are no priorities between the suits. That is why two pairs of the same rank have the same value. For example, Hearts Flush Royal counts the same as Clubs Flush Royal.
After looking at his hand, a Player decides which of the three possible decisions to make:
Decision 1. Surrender immediately. The Player presses “Surrender” button, the ANTE BET is lost and the game is over.
Decision 2. Continue playing with cards he has.If the Player makes this decision, he presses “Deal” button which automatically makes the bet twice his ANTE BET. Sometimes this procedure is called 'Raising the Ante Bet'.
Decision 3. Try to change all five cards to get a better combination. In order to change the cards, you should click them and press the “Change”. The change of all five cards costs one ANTE BET. The Dealer draws new cards. The Player looks at his cards again and, if the change was successful, he makes Decision 2. If it is not so, the Player can make the first Decision and stop the game at once. There are no more aternatives left. When the Player changes his cards, there is one restriction: change will be impossible, if the Player has not enough money on his account to make the Bet.
After the Player has made his decision the Dealer opens his cards. If the Dealer has any card combinations in his hand, his cards are compared to those of the Player’s. If the Player’s hand is lower, he loses all his wager. If the Dealer and the Player have equal hands, the Player keeps his bets.
If the Dealer loses, the Ante Bet is paid 1 to 1, and the Bet itself is paid according to the poker combination of the Player.

Here is the chart of a payout ratio:

Combination Pays
Royal Flush 100 : 1
Straight Flush 50 : 1
Four of a Kind 20 : 1
Full or Full House 7 : 1
Flush 5 : 1
Straight 4 : 1
Three of a Kind 3 : 1
Two Pairs 2 : 1
One Pair 1 : 1
Ace-King 1 : 1

It was supposed that the Dealer has any poker combinations. Ih he does not, they say that “the Dealer does not qualify”. In this case the Player’s winnings will equal to his Ante Bet.

Open Blackjack

Before any cards are dealt, the player must wager. He does this by placing his bet in the designated space in front of his table position. The dealer then deals two cards to each of the players, and two to himself (one of the dealer's cards is dealt face up and one is dealt facing down). Face cards (kings, queens and jacks) count as 10, ace counts as one or 11 (as the player chooses) and all other cards are counted at their face value.
